Sunny Saturday

Howdy Everybuddy.  Today, cause it's so bloomin' hot, mum took off Rory's boot while he was resting.  Yep, no boots.  His foot is looking so much better.  Don't worry though, we were watching him like a hawk

Here's a photo of his sore.  It is nearly healed.  We are super pleased about that.  It's not even gross anymore.

Here are his poor old back feet.  They've been through the wringer for sure.  The paralysed foot is the funny coloured one.  The colour is from the Betadine mum puts on the sore.  The pads are sort of a bit hairy now cause he never walks without his boot on.  Still, Rory manages to get around.  You know his motto.  "No Worries", and he never expects to be treated any different to anyone else.

On the otherhand, I, Stella, believe I should get a lot of attention, hehe.  Here's mum and I.  She gives good belly rubs and ear scritches.  Mmmm, feels good.

Aaaaah, that's it.  Right there.
Mmmm, yep, I could handle this all day.

Hope your weekend is full of rubs and scritches mates.
No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

Koala Rescue and Summer skies

Howdy Mates.  A few weeks ago (actually the day the bushfires started) our sissy was leaving work and found this koala in great distress in the carpark of her work.

Apparently he/she had been there most of the day. Our sissy told her manager and they took water out to the poor koala but he/she was not interested.  Tess came home to tell mum.  Mum went back to sissy's work and then rang Koala Rescue and they came out within half an hour.  It is very unusual to find a koala on the ground and unresponsive.  The little koala was taken into care and within about three days was re-hydrated and well enough to be released back into the same area.   We hope she is fine now.

Meanwhile back at the ranch, er, our place, I like to snooze away the hot days.

Stellie likes to sit out the front with Dad and bark at watch people pass by.

Here's a photo of our summer sky, taken from our backyard, to warm up all our mates having cold snowy weather.

No worries, and slobbery love, Rory and Stella

Bushfire photos - new growth

Howdy Everybuddy.  Last Sunday, mum and dad and our sissy and brother went to our Uncle's place and for the first time, drove through some parts of the Bushfire area, from January this year.  It made mum feel very sad because she loves our Hills and their unique vegetation.   Once driving through and getting over the shock at the devastation, they were all thrilled to see new growth on some of the trees and on the ground.   Our sissy took these photos with her phone as they were driving. If you look closely, you can see new leaves growing on the trunk of the gum tree.

The above photos were taken around 11.30 am and the temperature was 39C (104F) and the two photos below were around 4.30 pm and we had a change coming through and the temperature dropped from 39C to 25C (77F) and we had a few drops of rain.

One more thing mates.  Rory's foot is soooo much better.  Mum is secretly doing a happy dance because she thinks, possibly if all goes well,  in about 3-4 weeks she can stop bandaging Rory's foot.  After nearly a year of bandaging, he might be able to wear his boot with NO BANDAGE under it.  YAAHOOOOOOOOO!

Take care all and have a wonderful day.

A new koala garden pot.

Howdy Mates.  The other day mum went shopping to the gardening store.  Bless her.  You have to give her 10 out of 10 for trying.  We don't bother to help in the garden anymore cause we realised she just seemed to get more stressed when we did.  Now we leave her to muddle around and we just snoopervise.  Well, she saw this koala pot and just had to have it.  We like it too.  She placed it near our outside house.  You may notice mum and dad chocked up the dog house a little to help Rory get in and out.  Rory loves his dog house.

After being outside all afternoon planting and snoopervising we were all ready for a break.  I walked into the room and what did I see???  My little brother.  The sneak.  He'd crept onto the lounge without mum even noticing cause she was yabbering away with our sissy.

I don't mind though.  He's a good little brother and since he has been having tablets twice a day, he shares his treats with me!!  Yowza.

See ya all soon.
No worries, and love,
