Penny - Fighting and a Vet Visit

Howdy furriends.  Penny here to tell you all a story about why I spent the day at the Vets on Thursday.  It all started a week ago.  I was out snoozing under our lavendar bush where I always go.  I'm 14 now and like to relax and enjoy the day. You know, smell the flowers and enjoy the sun puddles, roll around in dust and just enjoy life.  So there I am minding my own business when Tom Cat from over the road comes strolling in to our place and pees on the front gate like he owns the joint.  Now I know for a fact that he's been peeing on OUR laundry door at night.  Mum opens it every morning and the smell is awful!  Mum gets her angry face on and it's not a good start to the day.

So I say, hey, booger face, get off our property. You're not welcome here.  He spits and says he'll go where he damn well pleases.  Well, I may only be a scrap of a cat, weigh only 2.7 kgs (6 lbs) but I take home security seriously.

I walk right up to that big tub of lard and give him a good left hook and then a right hook and then yell in his stoopid ears to go away.  He is surprised and swipes back.  I laugh and dodge and give him another lefty.  Now this is where it gets dirty.  The rotten buggar then bites me right on the face!!  How low can you go.  I tell him he's a dirty rotten scoundrel cause we were taught never to bite and that's low.  He just sneers and calls me a pussy.  Well just at this moment Rory and Stella hear all the commotion and come a running to help me.  Stella's in the lead with the Wobblin' Dude, aka Rory, backing her up.  Old booger face takes one look at them and runs away like the dirty yellow coward he is.

I'm feeling mighty fine and say thanks to them both for their help.  Well a few days later i'm starting to feel sore.  My face aches and I'm outta sorts.  My sissy comes home from work and holy moly, she freaks out, grabs me and runs inside.  My face has turned into a pumpkin during the day.  I don't care.  I just want to sleep but no chance.  Off to the Vets I go and I have to stay, have an anaesthetic and have lots of yucky stuff sucked outta my neck and face.  Lucky I slept through the whole thing and when I woke up and felt better, I was allowed to go home.

Stella and Rory were glad to see me and I was glad too.  I have to stay inside till next Tuesday and mum made me up a litter tray so I said to the dawgs, help yourself mates to anything I leave in there.  It's only fair since they helped me when I needed them.

So, I'm going crazy inside.  I want out.  Butt, mum says no.  Sigh.  I'm just gonna have to wait.  Let's hope stoopid old booger face doesn't come here again.  See ya mates.

NO worries, and purrs, Penny

P.S.  There are photos below of my neck.  It's gross and I have a drainage tube THROUGH my neck!  It doesn't hurt at all.  If ya want to look, scroll down.

Hope it didn't make ya spew!
xx

  15. Poor baby! Good thing Stella and Rory came to the rescue. Damn fool tom cat, interfering with a perfectly good nap in the sun.

Tell Mum to open the curtains so you can find a sun puddle indoors for the next week. I suspect the heroes will be happy to help you enjoy it!

  19. Oh Penny, you were tough to stand up to that mean tomcat. But at your age, you should be letting the younger pups take care of security. We hope your injury heals well. Listen to Mum and stay inside for now.

  20. Ouwee-zowee, those claws hurt! Sometimes the heroines suffer a few wounds doing their work, but that's why they're heroines - they stand up for what is right. And "my", as my Mama's elders used to say, "did you ever?" It was how they would show they were impressed! Glad the pack had your back and get well soon, sweet one. <3 BTW, I'm Bailey, a new pal from Facebook.
